OOIDA recognizes drivers for safe driving records

OOIDA recently announced honorees in the Association’s Safe Driving Award program. The following drivers have been recognized by the Association for truck driving excellence:

  • Lonnie Byers of Ozark, AR, has been recognized for 41 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls theatrical scenery and other oversized loads.
  • Don Carter of Rogers, AR, has been recognized for 40 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Paul Jones of South Plainfield, NJ, has been recognized for 39 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls general commodities.
  • Richard Tilley of Pasadena, TX, has been recognized for 27 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Shawn and Cindy Ragan of Howard, CO, have been recognized for 20 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • John Ferreira of Turlock, CA, has been recognized for 12 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Sunny Ramen of Jersey City, NJ, has been recognized for 11 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls general freight.
  • Mark Johnson of Opp, AL, has been recognized for seven years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Kevin Ross of Huntingdon, PA, has been recognized for three years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls air freight.

The OOIDA Safe Driving Award Program is designed to recognize and reward OOIDA members for their safe, accident-free years while operating a commercial vehicle. Safe driving awards are available to all eligible OOIDA members who qualify based on the number of years for which the member has operated a commercial vehicle without being involved in a preventable accident.
