As one of his first orders of business, newly inaugurated Gov. Jerry Brown reappointed Mary Nichols to chair the California Air Resources Board.
Nichols has faced criticism in recent years as the board dealt with a controversial research scandal and recently rolled out billions of dollars of costs for truck owners to meet new diesel emissions requirements. In a prepared statement, Nichols said she looked forward to continuing CARB’s work.
