The driver of a tractor-trailer that was hauling stage equipment for country singer Carrie Underwood was killed Saturday morning, March 20, when his truck crashed on Interstate 95 near Stonington, CT.
The driver’s name has not been released.
The Hartford Courant reported the truck veered off the interstate and scraped along a guardrail for 400 feet. The guardrail tore the fuel tank open, and the cab was engulfed in flames when the truck hit a bridge abutment.
Underwood went ahead with her scheduled show at a casino Saturday night, dedicating a song to the driver and his family.
