Wisconsin opens up first-come, first-serve grant program

| Friday, March 12, 2010

The Wisconsin Department of Commerce is accepting applications beginning Friday, March 12, for the state’s Diesel Truck Idling Reduction Grant Program.

The program will cover up to 50 percent of the reimbursement costs associated with purchasing and installing idling-reduction equipment.

The $2 million program will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. The funds were provided by last year’s American Recovery and Re-investment Act.

“If you have already applied for funding, you may apply again if you have not met your maximum number of idle-reduction units that you’re eligible for,” read a statement from the Wisconsin Department of Commerce.

As opposed to previous programs, no six-month report or ECM download is required under the program.
