A truck driver from New York was killed by his own truck Thursday as he reached for a toll machine ticket on the Indiana Toll Road.

According to The Associated Press, Jaroslaw Lelis, a former OOIDA member of Valley Stream, NY, was eastbound at the Portage Toll Plaza shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday. As Lelis opened his door and reached to grab a ticket at the toll booth, his truck began to roll backward, which crushed him between the door and a concrete post.

The AP said a police report showed the 47-year-old Lelis died from massive head trauma.
