CARB to Webcast course on exhaust after-treatment devices

| Thursday, November 12, 2009

The California Air Resources Board will host a Webcast course to walk truck owners and others through CARB-approved exhaust after-treatment devices.

The course will be Webcast from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 1, and will cover diesel particulate filter theory, operation, construction and application, as well as CARB regulations that require particulate filters.

As California truck driver and OOIDA Member Dudley Meyer pointed out, CARB regulations aren’t popular but they are important for small-business trucking operations to understand.

“Truckers in general have a difficult time accepting the CARB diesel exhaust regs,” Meyer told Land Line on Thursday, Nov. 12. “However, the ARB is not going away. Some truckers have relied on incorrect hearsay and rumors about the regs and haven’t researched it for themselves.”
