OOIDA’s Rajkovacz hits road for two weeks in ‘Spirit’ truck

| Thursday, October 08, 2009

After 29 years of trucking, Joe Rajkovacz sold his truck in 2006 to accept the position of regulatory affairs specialist for the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association.

Rajkovacz will be hitting the open road for the next two weeks in OOIDA’s “The Spirit” truck. He’s heading out to California on Friday, Oct. 9, to promote the First Observer program.

OOIDA is a subcontractor for First Observer – the Transportation Security Administration’s trucking security program. First Observer has developed training modules for highway professionals to train them in terrorism and security awareness and to receive information back from those drivers.

“I am excited to get back out there – even if it’s just for two weeks,” he said. “For drivers who want to know more about the First Observer program, as well as about the Association, stop by and look me up,” he said.

OOIDA Life Member Bill Rode of Eagle, ID, will be joining up with Rajkovacz when he hits California. Here is Rajkovacz’ trip schedule.
