OOIDA: Speak up on Wyoming I-80 toll plan

| Thursday, September 17, 2009

OOIDA has issued a Call to Action to its Wyoming members to get involved in the debate about whether I-80 should be converted into a toll road.

Earlier this year, Wyoming lawmakers directed the state Department of Transportation to commission a feasibility study on tolling I-80.

Despite a handful of public meetings on the proposal in early summer, “the department was surprised and disappointed by the lack of comments they received from the trucking community,” according to the OOIDA Call to Action.

Here’s how to get involved. First, click here to read background information provided by WYDOT.

Next, voice your comments and opinions by mail to Timothy McDowell, WYDOT Planning Program, 5300 Bishop Blvd., Cheyenne, WY 82009-3340 or by e-mail to tollingstudy@dot.state.wy.us.

“Remember: Increased tolls across this country will become a reality unless we get involved and make our voices heard,” OOIDA leadership stated in the Call to Action. “Please let your state know how you feel about tolls on any road and especially existing interstate highways!”
