Border agents in California say they recently busted a truck driver from Mexico with 120 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in the wall of a reefer.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a 24-year-old Mexican citizen was stopped at the Calexico, CA, point of entry on July 15. A gamma ray inspection revealed an altered front wall in the reefer the driver was hauling.

After a narcotics detection dog alerted officers to the same area of the truck, officers searched the trailer’s front wall and removed a cover for the reefer’s cooling unit. Inside, officers found 26 packages of powdered methamphetamine and three packages of crystal methamphetamine, also known as “ice.”

CBP seized the drugs, tractor and trailer and turned the driver over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
