Border patrol agents at Laredo, TX, recently stopped two tractor-trailers from Mexico with cash, marijuana and illegal would-be immigrants.

On Thursday, July 16, Customs and Border Patrol Agents at Interstate 35 performed an immigration inspection of the driver of a tractor-trailer. During the inspection, a border patrol canine team detected the presence of hidden people or contraband in the trailer.

Inside the locked trailer, agents found 32 undocumented migrants from El Salvador, Brazil and Mexico.

Agents arrested the driver for human smuggling and seized $12,500.

On a second, unrelated bust on July 16, agents were alerted by a border patrol canine team to the possible presence of hidden contraband or people.

Agents searched the trailer and found 31 cellophane-wrapped bundles with more than 840 pounds of marijuana.

The marijuana, truck and driver were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Agency.
