Summer is officially here. The sun is out in full force, reflecting off shiny show truck paint so brightly it almost hurts to look.

July 3-5: World of Large Cars in Carlinville, IL. This year’s show will also be a tribute to show truck photographer Bette Garber and show trucker Jake Eilen. Quick’s Shine Shop will be there polishing aluminum, with proceeds benefiting the Bette Garber and Jake Eilen memorial funds. The event is being held at the Macoupin County Fair Grounds. July 9-10: The 30th Annual Walcott Truckers’ Jamboree in Walcott, IA. The first Jamboree was held as a “thank you” from Bill Moon to his Iowa 80 truck stop customers. Aaron Tippin, OOIDA life member and former trucker, will perform at the show, which is also a celebration of Iowa 80’s 45th annivesary. Other happenings include an 8-foot-long semi truck cake big enough to feed 2,000 people, antique trucks, a pork chop cookout, fireworks and a pet contest. Don’t miss it! Additional information here.
July 23-26: Fergus Truck Show in Fergus, Ontario. Also known as North America’s largest truck show, it features truck and tractor pulls; food; live music from Terri Clark, Loverboy and other performers; family activities; a demolition derby and much more. For tickets and details, click here.
July 24-25: Expedite Expo 2009 in Wilmington, OH. This is the ninth year for this event. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Ryno and Rob from CMT’s “Trick My Truck,” hear great music and participate in numerous workshops.
