HireRight, a biggie in the on-demand employment screening solutions business, announced in March that USIS Commercial Services Inc. and HireRight Inc. have united under the HireRight brand name, creating one of the largest screening solution providers in the world.
HireRight and USIS Commercial Services – which now has changed its name to HireRight Solutions Inc. – began their transition to a single brand name after USIS acquired HireRight in 2008.
Any trucker who has ever had dealings with a DAC report is familiar with USIS and DAC Services, the company that did business as a USIS subsidiary.
DAC was the target of an OOIDA lawsuit that wrapped up last fall, in which OOIDA challenged DAC’s information gathering system. The U.S. District Court in Denver did not find that the DAC reports fell under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Despite the negative opinion from the court, OOIDA contends that the mere fact that the case went to trial has made a significant difference for drivers.
