The Mid-America Trucking Show will open to the public on Thursday afternoon, but Land Line writers have already shared a “wow” moment.
The trucking media had their hands full on Wednesday, March 18, affectionately known as press day around the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center in Louisville.
It didn’t take long for the dazzle to kick in. Land Line Magazine Senior Editor Jami Jones had her first “wow” moment during a press conference hosted by Grote.
Grote unveiled the new LightForm, the next generation of LED technology in the form of strips only slightly thicker than paper.
“They are bendable. They come in blue, red, green and amber. White is in development,” Jami stated in her first blog entry in Land Line’s “Pork Chop Diaries.” Click here to read the blog, which includes a video clip of the LEDs.
“They no more showed us this new amazing technology than I was already mentally dressing up the next generation of show trucks with them.”
Jami and Managing Editor Sandi Soendker, along with Land Line columnists Suzanne Stempinski, Bill Hudgins, Dave Sweetman and Paul Abelson spent press day attending numerous conferences hosted by Bendix, Truck-Lite, Grote, Alcoa, Mack, Ancra, Carrier Transicold and the National Biodiesel Board.
Stay tuned to the “Pork Chop Diaries” for more “wow” moments and other happenings at MATS through Saturday, March 21.
