OOIDA, Volvo, recognize drivers for safe driving records

OOIDA recently announced recent honorees in the Association’s Safe Driving Award program. The following drivers have been recognized by the Association and program sponsor Volvo Trucks North America for safe, accident-free driving and overall truck driving excellence:

  • Glenn E. Klipp of Ranson, WV, has been recognized for 43 years of safe, accident-free driving. Glenn currently hauls machinery and oversized loads.

 

  • James A. Chandler of Rome, GA, has been recognized for 36 years of safe, accident-free driving. James currently hauls meat, poultry, produce and cheese.
  • Noel J. Smith of Montevideo, MN, has been recognized for 20 years of safe, accident-free driving. Noel currently hauls building materials.

 

  • Earl and Cheryl Dechert of Fordland, MO, have been recognized for 19 years of safe, accident-free driving. The Decherts currently haul air freight and general commodities.
  • Rick Klatt of Oconto Falls, WI, has been recognized for 19 years of safe, accident-free driving. Rick currently hauls freight of all kinds.

 

  • Charles “Chuck” E. Winborn III of Birmingham, AL, has been recognized for 17 years of safe, accident-free driving. Chuck currently hauls freight for Target stores.
  • Jack Eberly of Stryker, OH, has been recognized for 16 years of safe, accident-free driving. Jack currently hauls lumber, sheet steel and coils.

 

  • Charlie Staab of Franklin, PA, has been recognized for 14 years of safe, accident-free driving. Charlie currently hauls LTL freight.
  • Raymond F. Fields of Wakeman, OH, has been recognized for 13 years of safe, accident-free driving. Raymond currently hauls expedited freight for the automotive industry.

 

  • Tibor Buhajla of Knoxville, AR, has been recognized for five years of safe, accident-free driving. Tibor currently hauls steel and oversized loads.
  • John Miller II of Medina, NY, has been recognized for three years of safe, accident-free driving. John currently hauls general freight and steel.

 

The OOIDA Safe Driving Award Program is designed to recognize and reward OOIDA members for their safe, accident-free years while operating a commercial vehicle. Safe driving awards are available to all eligible OOIDA members who qualify based on the number of years for which the member has operated a commercial vehicle without being involved in a preventable accident.

The program is sponsored by Volvo Trucks North America.
