Diesel drops another 3.3 cents to average $2.186 nationwide

For the fifth straight week, the national diesel average continues to drop by a few pennies – dipping another 3.3 cents to average $2.186 per gallon.

This is down more than $1.21 per gallon from this same week in 2008, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s report released on Tuesday, Feb. 17.

All nine regions are again reporting decreases in diesel averages this past week. The lowest price is being reported in the Gulf Coast region at $2.135 per gallon. The New England region is again reporting the highest fuel prices of all the regional averages at $2.559 per gallon.
