National average for diesel drops another 4.9 cents to $2.615

The national average price for diesel continues to drop – dipping another 4.9 cents to average $2.615 per gallon – this past week.

The Energy Information Administration reported on Monday, Dec. 1, that the national average for diesel is down more than 80 cents from this same week in 2007.

The average price for diesel dropped again in all nine regions of the country. All regions are reporting fuel averages below the $3 range for the second straight week. The California region is reporting the lowest price for fuel at $2.538, while the highest diesel prices are still being reported in the New England region at $2.954.
