National average price drops below the $3 mark for diesel

The average price for diesel dropped another 14.4 cents nationwide to average $2.944 per gallon this past week. The national average is still 48.1 cents per gallon higher than the same time period in 2007.

The average price dropped again in all regions of the country, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s report on Monday, Nov. 10.

The New England region reported the most expensive average diesel prices at $3.266, which was still lower than the previous week’s average of $3.420. The Gulf Coast region is reporting the lowest average price for diesel at $2.90 per gallon.
