LongRider Lubricants LLC has joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay program as a Transport Partner.

As a synthetic lubricants company, LongRider strongly endorses SmartWay’s FLEET Program strategy of using low-viscosity lubricants. According to the EPA, synthetic and semi-synthetic lubricants reduce friction losses in a truck’s drive train, transmission, and engine, saving fuel and reducing emissions.

The combined effect of low-viscosity synthetic engine oils and drive train lubricants can improve fuel economy by up to 5 percent, saving hundreds of gallons of fuel and eliminating up to 5 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year for a typical freight truck.
