Trucker to address Democratic National Convention

| Monday, August 25, 2008

The Democratic National Convention began in Denver Monday, Aug. 25, and one of the speakers the delegates will hear from during the convention is a Teamsters union official and truck driver from Taylor, MI.

The Michigan Messenger reported that Roy Gross will address more than 75,000 Democrats at Invesco Field on Thursday night with a message about his struggles working in Michigan’s weak economy.

Gross, a single father of a college-age daughter, spoke at rally in Warren, MI, in May, for Barack Obama, telling the crowd about the troubles blue collar workers face in today’s economy.
