Hazmat to bypass DNC; parts of I-25 in Denver will be off-limits

Truckers who haul the type of hazmat that’s restricted to designated hazmat routes will be detoured around downtown Denver later this month – except for local pickup and delivery.

That’s because the Democratic National Convention will be under way in the downtown area Aug. 25-28.

Officials with the Colorado State Patrol and Denver Police Department have announced that a stretch of Interstate 25 in Denver will be among the routes that will be off-limits before, during and after the convention.
