Jerry Kissinger, an OOIDA member from Stoughton, WI, picked up his second Best of Show – Working Combo at the National Association of Show Trucks’ Second West Michigan Truck Show and Industry Expo in mid-June.
Kissinger’s 1991 Mack Super-Liner is burnt orange and pulls a Great Dane reefer with a mural of horses the full length of the trailer. His combo picked up Best of Show honors in the first NAST event of the season and was named as a competitor for the Truck-Lite Trophy.
For the second consecutive show this season Bill Morgan out of Willis, MI, took home Best of Show – Non-Working. Done in a Wild West theme keeping the days of the stagecoach alive and well, the 1999 Kenworth T800s stops show goers in their tracks.
Best of Show – Working Bobtail was awarded to a 1996 W900L Kenworth, owned by Roddy’s Trucks and driven by Warren Nyland from Martin, MI. Named “Shovelhead,” this heavy hauler, tri-axle tractor with flames has enough chrome and lights to be seen on the foggiest of nights.
The third Truck-Lite Trophy series qualifier who will be competing in Louisville, KY, in 2009 at the Mid-America Truck Show is Warren Nyland from Martin, MI, and Roddy’s Trucks with their 1996 W900L Kenworth.
