The next OOIDA Business Seminar is scheduled for April 8, 9 and 10 at the Association’s headquarters in Grain Valley, MO.
Tom Weakley, director of the OOIDA Foundation, along with a variety of guest speakers, will cover topics to help people develop or further a successful trucking business.
Particular attention will be given to the problems that rising fuel costs create. How to implement a fuel surcharge is one of the topics that Weakley said would be discussed in depth during the three-day seminar.
Other topics to be covered include operating authority, business models, insurance, fuel taxes, highway-use taxes, spec’ing a truck, leasing, financing, business costs, permits, record keeping, safety audits, drug testing, broker-carrier agreements and more.
The seminar fee for OOIDA members is $450. For non-members, it’s $475 and that includes a one-year Association membership. The class will be limited to 25 participants.
Upon completion, each attendee receives a certificate from OOIDA.
