I-70 closed in Colorado; other interstates reopen

| 2/8/2008

Interstate 70 in Colorado remained closed in both directions at midday on Friday, Feb. 8, because of what the Vail Daily News described as “dangerous conditions.”

Shelters have been set up for travelers because highway officials still aren’t sure when the interstate will reopen, according to the newspaper.

In Idaho, Interstates 15 and 86 reopened Friday, but I-84 remained closed near the Utah state line because of blowing snow and icy conditions.

On Thursday, Feb 7, at least seven tractor-trailers slid off of I-15 in Idaho during high winds.
