Former TN trooper gets no jail after taping roadside sex act

It’s safe to say there’s been little waltzing in the Tennessee Highway Patrol headquarters this week.

A former Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper will reportedly receive no jail time after he was indicated in October on 10 different counts tied to official misconduct, including allowing a motorist to perform a sex act on him in his patrol car.

The Tennessean newspaper reported this week that James Randy Moss, 40, recorded video of a porn star performing a sex act on him, and later sent the video to Barbie Cummings, a 21-year-old porn actress.

Moss pulled Cummings’ car over on May 7 for driving more than 20 miles over the speed limit, and later “said yes” when Cummings offered oral sex.

Moss still wrote her a citation.

Other women came forward with similar stories regarding Moss, and the THP has investigated 25 “questionable” traffic stops undertaken by Moss in the line of duty, The Tennessean newspaper reported.

In an unrelated story, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported that former Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper Matthew McGlothlan pleaded guilty this week to felony charges of theft and official misconduct after he took $900 from motorist Marcos Escobar’s wallet during a traffic stop earlier in the week.
