| Tuesday, January 08, 2008

The Canadian publishing group behind the Truck World truck show in Ontario is expanding.

Newcom Business Media, publisher of Today’s Trucking, HighwayStar and Transport Routier, presents the first-ever Winnipeg Truck Show, May 23-24 in Winnipeg, the provincial capital of Manitoba.

The show is to include 200 exhibitors, trucking seminars, entertainment, a show-and-shine contest and a scheduled convoy through downtown Winnipeg.

Jim Park, editor of HighwayStar Magazine, will present two seminars, one on spec’ing a truck for fuel economy and the other featuring 10 keys to success for owner-operators.

Newcom will expand its show schedule in 2009.

In September 2009, Newcom will present the inaugural Rocky Mountain Truck Show in the province of Alberta, with dates and location to be announced.

The two new shows will be similar in format to the annual Truck World show in Toronto, Ontario.

Truck World 2008 kicks off Newcom’s 2008 show season April 17-19 at International Centre in Toronto.
