When police pulled over a tractor-trailer for speeding on Interstate 30 just east of Dallas early Sunday, Oct. 28, they made a ghoulish discovery.
In the trailer, they found two dozen embalmed human heads in plastic bags and other containers.
According to the Dallas Morning News, the driver was detained until his company faxed paperwork showing that the heads had been used for medical training in Fort Worth, TX, and were being shipped back to a company in Little Rock, AR.
The Morning News reported there is little state or federal oversight of bodies that are donated to science.
A judge who was called out to the scene said, “This is in the top five of the strangest things – maybe the strangest – that I’ve ever encountered.”
