It was a week that started with the loss of a dear Land Line friend, and ended with the introduction of a new member of our family. And all of it was documented on the Land Line Media Blog.
Land Line columnist Pete Rigney, known by all as the “Silver Fox,” passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21. Copy Chief Coral Beach, who frequently spoke to Pete when he called in to discuss his columns, gives a fitting tribute to a man loved by so many readers and friends, and gives a few appropriately themed poems from this year’s poetry contest.
Staff Writer Charlie Morasch mixed things up a bit on Monday with his own blog entry on Drew Carey. Apparently, when he’s not hosting “The Price is Right,” Carey is busy making propaganda for the pro-privatization crowd. This is Carey as you’ve never seen him before.
And on Friday, Copy Editor Elizabeth Andersen, the newest addition to the Land Line staff, wrote her inaugural blog. With more than 20 years in the journalism business and coming most recently from the field of medical editing, Elizabeth says she’s thrilled to have made the transition to the transportation world – but please bear with her as she learns an entirely new set of acronyms and jargon.
