Ohio snowplows to go high-tech

| Monday, October 22, 2007

GPS technology is now making its way into city snowplows.

Using a $4 million federal grant, Columbus, OH, and surrounding Franklin County are equipping 30 plows with GPS that will help public works employees keep track of what’s been plowed and what hasn’t.

The plows are also getting sensors to measure street temperatures to help determine the best mix of salt and liquid de-icer.
