| Tuesday, October 09, 2007

Contract talks between the UAW and Chrysler resumed Tuesday morning – and the union has set a deadline of 11 a.m. Wednesday for a tentative contract.

If the deadline’s missed, 49,000 workers could go out on strike.

According to The Associated Press, Chrysler’s union workers presently average $75.86 per hour in wages, pension and health care compensation, making them the highest-paid among the Big 3 automakers.
