If you’re planning to be northbound on Interstate 5 through Seattle in the near future, consider this your warning.
According to the Washington Department of Transportation, at 10p.m. on Friday, crews will shut down up to three of the northbound lanes of I-5 between the West Seattle Bridge and I-90.
And, it will stay that way for the next 19 days.
“The work on northbound I-5 will require some of the most extensive lane and ramp closures Seattle drivers have ever seen,” states an announcement on the state’s DOT Web site.
“I-5 will be reduced to two or three lanes during the daytime, and sometimes just one lane overnight, during the intensive 19-day period, Aug. 10 through 29. The following diagrams indicate which lanes and ramps will be open and closed during each phase of the construction project: (click here to view the diagrams).”
