OOIDA’s Spencer weighs in on PA tolls

| Thursday, August 02, 2007

Todd Spencer, executive vice president of OOIDA, has sent a strongly worded letter to the head of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Authority, calling some of his recent statements on tolling Interstate 80 “reprehensible.”

In his letter to Joseph Brimmeier, Spencer called it “shameful” that Brimmeier denounced two U.S. congressmen from Pennsylvania as “hypocritical” because they oppose turning Interstate 80 into a toll road.

The Republican congressmen – Reps. Phil English and John Peterson – have introduced two bills that would block the governor’s plan to make I-80 a toll road.
