An activist in Boston has handed state officials a study showing that there are many more crashes in the Big Dig’s new O’Neill Tunnel than in two older tunnels nearby.

According to The Associated Press, the study found that, in a two-year period, there were 614 wrecks in the O’Neill Tunnel, compared to only 28 in the other two tunnels.

The activist – Vincent Zarrilli – is trying to get the speed limit in the new tunnel lowered from 45 mph to 30 mph.
