Class 8 truck sales continue to dwindle

| 7/20/2007

Sales of Class 8 trucks in June were nearly 60 percent lower than in June of 2006, according to Ward’s Automotive.

Those figures made this June the worst sales month in four years for truck dealers and manufacturers.

About 10,600 heavy trucks were sold in June, compared to more than 25,000 a year ago. If the trend continues, truck sales will be off by about 50 percent for the year, compared to the 35-percent drop the manufacturers were expecting.
