Two “Ride for Freedom” trucks, built at a Virginia heavy truck plant, will be participating in Fourth of July events this week.

One Mack and one Volvo truck are themed out in honor of America’s fallen and missing soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines. Both trucks participated in the national Rolling Thunder – Ride for Freedom motorcycle rally in Washington, DC. The ride happened during the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

The Volvo VN 670 and the Mack CH with attention-grabbing paint and murals were part of a project developed by New River Valley plant in Dublin, VA, in conjunction with UAW Local 2069’s Veteran Committee.

The Mack will participate in a July 4 parade, this one in Pulaski, VA., which is near the New River Valley Plant where it was built. The Volvo will reportedly participate in Independence Day activities, as well.

The VN 670 and the Mack CH feature patriotic murals and illustrations honoring the sacrifices of America’s military personnel, with the motto“All Gave Some … Some Gave All.”

The trucks also promote the Wounded Warrior Project, a national effort to raise awareness and support for the needs of the men and women who have been wounded in the service of their country.
