Bodies found at truck stops could be linked to 2005 case

Police in Nashville, TN, are taking a look back at a 2-year-old case to see if it could be linked to two recent killings in which the bodies of women were found at truck stops.

The Tennessean newspaper reported that the nude body of a 24-year-old woman was left at an abandoned truck stop off Interstate 40 east of Nashville in 2005, and that a surveillance camera on a nearby business showed a white truck stopping briefly at the same spot.

Police are now looking for a white Volvo pulling a flatbed in connection with the recent killings of two women.

The body of one was found at a Travel Centers of America truck stop in Nashville Tuesday morning. The other woman’s body was found stuffed in a trash can at a Pilot truck stop in Lebanon, TN, on June 6.

Authorities are looking for a trucker in his 40s or 50s, and is described as a 5-foot-9-inch tall, 200-pound white man with white hair and glasses. Police say he is a “person of interest.”

He’s driving a 2000 or 2001 white Volvo pulling a flatbed, with a large, tan container-type storage unit on the trailer.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Nashville Police Department at (615) 862-7044.
