New Jersey privatization push may be delayed

New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine’s plan to lease the state’s toll roads to private investors is now on hold until after the November elections, according to the Star-Ledger.

Corzine is in the middle of a four-year term as governor, but the paper reported party leaders are worried that introducing a privatization plan before the election could hurt other Democratic candidates.

Leaders also fear that Corzine – who’s recuperating from a serious SUV accident – won’t be physically able to lead a statewide privatization campaign for a while.
