Delayed border crossing fees to begin June 1

| Tuesday, May 29, 2007

Canadian truckers who enter the U.S. are going to have to start paying new fees beginning June 1.

The fees – which will cost Canadian truckers a little more than $5 per crossing, or $105 a year – are in addition to existing fees, and are designed to pay for beefed-up inspection of agricultural products.

However, the fee will apply to all trucks, regardless of whether they’re carrying agricultural goods.
