The man who engineered the financial aspects of the Indiana Toll Road lease is resigning his position as state budget director.

The Indianapolis Star reports that Charles Schalliol is considering offers to work for a venture capital or private equity company – the very kinds of firms that lease toll roads.

In Indiana, Schalliol will be remembered for helping Gov. Mitch Daniels convince lawmakers to lease the state’s toll road for $3.85 billion to a consortium of foreign companies.
