Trucker Robert Arnold Martin, 36, told police he was beaten and robbed last week by two Hispanic males he said were wearing hats emblazoned with the word “COPS.”

According to media reports, Martin said a dark-colored Ford or Dodge pickup flashed what looked like law enforcement vehicle lights to get him to pull his rig over on U.S. 69 on Thursday, April 19, in Muskogee County, OK.

Two men got out of the pickup and Martin showed them his logbook. The two men began fighting with him after they tried to open his trailer, according to the Muskogee Phoenix. The newspaper reported that sheriff’s deputies were inspecting security video taken from a truck stop in the area.

Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson didn’t return phone messages left by Land Line.

The Phoenix reported that Martin suffered bleeding on the brain during the beating, during which he tossed his truck keys under the trailer. The two men allegedly stole $160 from his wallet.
