Mexican truck kills nine in Monterrey

A Mexican trucker who was driving in Monterrey, Mexico, on Sunday apparently lost the brakes on his tractor-trailer and plowed through a residential area. Nine people were killed.

According to The Associated Press, the truck was loaded with 66 tons of steel, and that it hit pedestrians, cars and buildings before coming to a stop after two and a half miles.

The trucker, who has not been named, survived and is being questioned, The AP reported.
