No luck for stuck truck

| Friday, March 30, 2007

An overweight truck carrying a huge load is stuck in Idaho at the Washington state border, because Washington officials won’t let it in until the weight is re-distributed.

The 165-foot-long rig – with 21 axles – is hauling a 100-ton expansion joint for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.

And, because of the weight skirmish between the states, Friday marked the 13th day for the truck to be stranded.

Claudia Cornish, a spokeswoman for the Washington Department of Transportation, told “Land Line Now” on XM Satellite Radio that the owner of the Texas company that owns the truck is still trying to come up with a solution to the problem.
