Kevin Greene wouldn't give up his Peterbilt tractor any more
than the experiences he's shared with the truck.
The OOIDA member from Cincinnati would, however, allow the
truck to be given a new exterior and interior.
"This truck and I have been through many tough situations
but have always made it through OK," said Greene, according to a news release
from BP Lubricants USA Inc. "It's a dependable truck but it's getting hard to
keep up with the maintenance."
Greene, along with fellow OOIDA member Bruce Faulk from
Montgomery, AL, and Ronny Robin of Belgrade, MN, is a finalist for the Big
Honkin' Truck Makeover contest. The winner will receive a $50,000 makeover for
his truck's interior, exterior and communication systems. The custom work will
be done by The Chrome Shop Mafia, the stars of the Country Music Television
network series "Trick My Truck."
The grand prize winner will be announced on the final day of
the Mid-America Trucking Show, which is March 22-24 in Louisville, KY.
Truckers and the public have the opportunity to vote for
their favorite makeover finalist through Feb. 28, on the Castrol Web site at www.castrol.com/truckmakeover.
The makeover includes products from the National Seating
Company, Continental Tire North America, Alcoa Wheel Products, Grote
Industries, Sirius Satellite Radio, Delphi, Your Truck Shop and the Midnight
Trucking Radio Network.
The winners will be announced at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday,
March 24, at the Midnight Trucking Radio Network booth in South Wing Lobby A.
The runner-up will receive a five-day, four-night trip for
two to the NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas and $500 spending cash. The third-place
price will receive a $500 Best Buy gift card for electronics for their rig, and
all three finalists will get a year's supply of Castrol Tection Extra motor
