Investigators say FEMA still squandering Katrina relief dollars

Federal investigators say the Federal Emergency Management Agency continues to squander millions of dollars on post-Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

According to The Associated Press, the General Accountability Office charges that at least $17 million was given to people for rent payment, when those people were already living for free in trailers or apartments provided by the government.

The GAO says FEMA also gave another $20 million to people who claimed the same property damage for both Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita.
