Average diesel price rises 1.4 cents

It wasn't much of an increase, but the national average price of a gallon of diesel rose by 1.4 cents for the week ending Monday, Nov. 27.

The national average last week was $2.553, climbing to $2.567 this week.

The West Coast region reported the biggest increase, averaging 3.6 cents higher at $2.760.

All nine of the Energy Information Administration's regions reported an average increase.

California reported a 2-cent increase from $2.690 to $2.710, while the Rocky Mountain region reported a 3.3-cent increase to $2.680.

Diesel in the Gulf Coast region was 2.1 cents higher, closing at $2.490.

The Midwest price did not change, averaging $2.554 for the second week in a row.

The East Coast average was $2.537, up 1.6 cents from last week.

Diesel in the Lower Atlantic region averaged $2.479 - the cheapest average diesel price in the nation despite a 1.8-cent increase.

The Central Atlantic region reported a 1.4-cent increase to $2.634.
