Golden Gate Bridge could soon be corporately sponsored

The people who oversee San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge say they're looking for corporate sponsors for the national landmark.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the officials insist it's not going to be a "naming rights deal" that would allow companies like Toyota or Taco Bell to put up signs on the bridge.

However, so-called corporate sponsors might be able to put up signs nearby - which could generate $4 million annually for bridge maintenance.

A similar program is already in place in some national parks - and has resulted in hikers seeing signs like one that says, "This trail brought to you by Ford."
