Disembodied pig heads give German motorists a Halloween scare

Near the small town of Herne, Germany, it was shades of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" on Halloween eve.

But instead of the Headless Horseman, it was a case of headless hogs - or, more accurately, "hogless heads."

Police say a truck hauling two tons of pigs' heads pulled onto the highway in the dead of night and accelerated rapidly.

That's when the trailer doors swung open, causing hundreds of pig heads to fall out onto the road.

It took local firemen using a forklift an hour and a half to get all the heads back into the trailer, according to local media reports.
