A paramedic testified Tuesday in the case of former Texas trucker Tyrone Williams that when she went into a trailer filled with illegal
immigrants, she found "piles of bodies," some of which were stacked five deep.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the testimony
came on day two of the retrial of Williams. He faces a possible death sentence
in the deaths of 19 illegals who suffocated or died of the heat in a trailer he
used in a smuggling operation in 2003.
Williams' lawyer told the jury that a man named Abelardo
Flores was actually responsible for the deaths. But Flores testified that he
told Williams twice to turn on his refrigeration unit so that the people in the
trailer could stay cool.
