Lawmaker suggests raiding 'Major Moves' coffers in Indiana

An Indiana lawmaker has called on Gov. Mitch Daniels to raid the fund created by leasing the Indiana Toll Road, and to use the money for flood relief.

Floods recently struck Lake County, which is on the northern edge of the state, causing damage that State Rep. Dan Stevenson, D-Highland, said will likely exceed any federal aid that might be available.

Stevenson also called on Daniels to use his influence in Washington, DC, to gain additional federal aid.

Daniels promoted the lease of the toll road as a way to produce funds for other highway projects throughout the state.
