The ownership of Travel Centers of America, which operates 162 truck stops in the U.S. and Canada, is being sold for nearly $2 billion.

The buyer is a company called Hospitality Properties Trust, located in Newton, MA. According to a press release, the company operates more than 300 hotels in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

A spokesman for TA told “Land Line Now” on XM Satellite Radio that Travel Centers of America will continue to do business as usual, and that the only change will be the company’s ownership.
