Denver police aim radar at bikers, skaters

| Monday, August 28, 2006

If you think truckers are the only ones getting scoped out by the cops for speeding, think again.

According to KMGH-TV, Denver, CO, police are setting their radar to work – on roller skates and bicycles. Their targets? In-line skaters and cyclists who exceed 15 miles per hour.

Law enforcement officials told the station they started tracking skater speeds after several pedestrians were hit.

Tickets may run as high as $55. There’s no word on whether skateboarders will be next.
